Message from Fr. Stanislav, Sunday, 16 August
Glory to Jesus Christ.
Dear Ken, Gregory, and our other friends and KONU sponsors:
It seems to me that time flies faster when there is a war. Perhaps for someone directly suffering in the moment, time moves very slowly.
Yesterday, I saw that some gas stations in our city are already being sandbagged. Drones are becoming more advanced and flying further than before; in border regions affected by the war, gas stations have been completely destroyed. Given this reality, mobile refueling units will be used to provide service.
Thanks to your funds, we are able to help people in the following ways:
— 10 families receive a supplement for apartment rent ($100 per month).
— Minor construction repairs (electrical, locks, water, plumbing) for displaced persons.
— Medical services: purchasing medication, paying for diagnostic tests, and covering other small medical-related expenses.
— Groceries: In recent years, food aid from Europe has significantly decreased, so we try to provide assistance on a smaller, more individual scale.
— Transportation services: providing transport or paying for fuel for those who cannot afford it themselves in cases of urgent need.
— Postal services: paying for parcel shipping. It is often easier to ship necessary items than to buy everything new in a new location.
This is generally how we utilize your funds.
The war has been going on for so many years now that we have grown weary of waiting for it to end.
Thank you, our dear friends. Thanks to you, my parish in Myrhorod and Lubny is able to live a dignified life. Together with you, we are addressing pressing issues in a blessed and proper way.
We pray for you constantly—for your families and your country—and we offer Masses for you.
We look forward to welcoming you, Ken, and everyone accompanying you. Sending you a warm embrace.
With love and prayers, Father Stanislav.
